Using Stainless Steel Cables to Create Decorative Deer Fencing
If you live on a rural property, you have likely encountered a deer or two. Like all wild animals, deer are hungry and active at all hours. Late in the season when the ground is dry, they have much less to eat and will take greater risks in search of food. Some of them may just try to forage through your garden or orchard. If you’re having issues with deer in the garden, some decorative deer fencing may be a good option for your home.
A quick search through some news articles and landscaping books about deer fences provided me with recommendations anywhere from 6 to 8 feet in height for construction. Many people may be turned off by the sheer size or just the poor aesthetics of these fences. Decorative deer fences don’t have to be an eyesore; in fact the photos from one of our recent projects display a beautiful and modern solution.
The fence and gate in these photos was constructed approximately 8′ in height and utilized steel post framing and stainless steel cables for the infill. The posts are cast in concrete just like any standard fencing application. Post and cable spacing can vary depending on a customers needs. Our customers are now able to enjoy unobstructed views through the cables without losing any strength or durability. The pass through gate allows for easy access while providing an attractive entry and a secure boundary for keeping out pesky deer; while keeping family and pets secure.
